Always apply a full base layer when doing soot-smudge Piet makeup. In collaboration with the Sinterklaasjournaal, W8 was developed for a beautiful, even base layer, which you can apply with a makeup sponge.
Then, you can apply the soot smudges using the black special effects powder in combination with the water-based makeup and a stipple sponge.
You can optionally accentuate the eyes and eyebrows with an eyeliner pencil (can be ordered separately)
