Wigs

Carnival wigs are perfect for trying out a different hairstyle.
Of course, this is a temporary hairstyle for a fun party.
With a wig, you immediately become a different person and sometimes even unrecognisable.
Do you want a bobline style or do you prefer long hair? Do you want an Afro wig or
perhaps a rasta style? It's all possible, even a rasta wig with the
rasta curls attached is an option. Wigs can
be divided into two categories: adjustable and non-adjustable
wigs. If a wig is adjustable, it's usually already a luxury model.
Adjustable means that the cap is elastic but can also be
adjusted to the size of the head, usually with a kind of
hook on the inside that you can secure. These wigs are
often very comfortable.

What should I look for in a good wig?

A good carnival wig has an elastic cap, is adjustable, and is airy. The latter point sometimes causes confusion. People grab a wig, look straight through it, and think that a wig is thin. It is actually good that a wig is not too thick or has a dense cap; a wig would then cause heat buildup, making you sweat and itch. If you can still see through it, opt for a wig cap. Of course, a carnival wig should also not be too tight, as that will pinch. That's why the elastic cap and the adjustability of the wig are important. Consider, for example, a Zwarte Piet wig that you wear for a long time or multiple days; wearing comfort is then very important. If the wig is for one evening and doesn't need to cost too much, then that is, of course, less important.

Afro wigs in different colors

Afro wigs not only come in different colors but also vary in size and quality. There are enormous afro hairstyles in various colors. These wigs are usually worn with 60s or 70s clothing, such as hippie clothing or disco clothing, think of bands like Boney M. For carnival, you can choose from various types and especially colors of afro wigs.

Cheap bob-line wigs

We have cheap bob-line wigs for women in every imaginable color. The bob, also called bob-line, was conceived in 1909 by a hairdresser in Paris. The hairstyle became very popular in the 1920s with the Flappers, a new generation of self-aware women who rebelled against everything conventional and simple. In the 1960s, the hairstyle became popular again. Among wigs, the bob-line model is also very popular, for example, in combination with a nice carnival jacket or tailcoat. For carnival groups, these wigs are popular because there are so many colored bob-line wigs.

1980s wigs

Most recognizable for men in the 1980s are the wigs with a mullet in the neck, the so-called Johnny wigs or Maaskantje wigs. Maaskantje later became popular again through successful films, which also made many people want to dress up as Maaskantje. We also call these the 'foute' (wrong/bad taste) wigs. Women wore more the Cindy Lauper style or a hairstyle like Madonna. This translates to wigs with backcombed hair or a bush of curls, sometimes in all sorts of crazy colors. Themed wigs

In addition to bob-line, afro, and 80s wigs, we also have a very extensive range of wigs that fit a specific theme, such as wigs for Native Americans or the 60s, Elvis wigs with sideburns and a big pompadour. Also very popular are Tyrolean and witch wigs. The very cheap, colored curly wigs are popular as clown wigs but also for large carnival groups.

What is a wig cap for?

You can wear a wig cap under your wig. This ensures that your hair stays neatly under the wig. If a wig is thinner or airier, it also ensures that you don't see your own hair color through the wig.
