For Sinterklaas, you can choose between a normal cape or an extra wide cape; these are specially made for riding a horse, but even without a horse, the wide cape gives a luxurious look. Sinterklaas clothing, a beard, and accessories

Have you picked out a beautiful Sinterklaas costume with the perfect habit and miter? Then it's time to complete the Sinterklaas costume. What else do you need? First, the beard with wig, mustache, and eyebrows. There are so many variations, for example, with a fixed or a loose mustache, and made of synthetic hair or buffalo hair. The prices of these beard sets vary widely. But that's not all you need to be Sinterklaas, because what is Sinterklaas without his big book and what about the staff? Do you want a standard staff or do you choose the real TV staff? It's entirely up to you. Sinterklaas also wears white gloves; long gloves are recommended, as they can cover the (sometimes) dark hairs on the arms. A blonde hairstyle and a white beard do not go well with dark arm hair. A cross is sometimes hidden under the beard, but a beautiful gold ring with a stone is very nice and Sinterklaas will always wear one. Don't forget the glue, glue remover, and a makeup kit; the older Sinterklaas is, the less makeup is used. Even with a good (buffalo) beard, you'll need less makeup. Sinterklaas is now pretty well dressed, and we can start looking at how Piet will look.

Piet costumes and accessories

Piet costumes range from inexpensive to very luxurious velvet options in the higher price categories. A Zwarte Piet costume comes with various accessories to complete the look. A Piet costume always includes a beret; you can choose the other accessories yourself. The Piet wig is important. If you want to play Piet all day or for several days, a comfortable wig is important; an adjustable wig is definitely recommended. The regular wig is a good option in its price range. A wig cap is handy for keeping hair neatly under the wig, but also for concealing any lighter hair color. Long black gloves are a must, as are tights in black or white, or even another color. On the beret, Piet usually wears two colored feathers. This can be in the color of the suit, or it can be a contrasting color for a cheerful effect. The feathers can be attached with a pin, and a beret pin can optionally be placed over it. New are the beret pins with a miter, just like in the Sinterklaasjournaal. A Piet collar is necessary with a Piet costume to protect the suit and you don't need to apply makeup as deeply, it looks better. On top of the Piet collar comes a beautiful white collar, possibly with matching cuffs. For gingerbread nuts or gifts, you can also bring a scattering bag with a miter or a large jute sack. Don't forget the Piet makeup, in whatever color. We recommend makeup from Kryolan or Grimas, as this makeup has been extensively tested and is safe to use.
